Eric Gales’ time is now. A rule-breaking, genre-fusing force of nature, hailed by giants like Joe Bonamassa, Dave Navarro and Mark Tremonti as one of the best guitarists on the planet, you’ll find the Memphis blues-rocker’s thumbprint on everything from his Grammy-nominated solo catalogue to the soundtrack of director Ryan Coogler’s smash-hit horror movie, Sinners.

A supernova amongst the shoegazers of the grunge era, there was simply nobody like Gales on the scene, and he was saluted in Guitar World’s readers poll as that year’s Best New Talent. “We weren’t the typical I-IV-V blues group,” he reflects. “We were trying to set ourselves apart, to make people start talking. A 16-year-old black kid coming out playing blues-rock and wailing: that just wasn’t happening at the time. And I didn’t see it happen again until Kingfish came around. I think The Eric Gales Band definitely left our mark on the world.”

Featuring soaring guitar and pedal steel over a heavy groove, Marvelous Funkshun is a venue and festival favorite. The band has graced the stage with artists such as George Porter Jr. of the Meters, Eric Gales, the late Kofi Burbridge of the Derek Trucks Band, Snoop Dogg and more. Recently, they have gained attention for a smoking tribute to Jimi Hendrix with funk and sacred steel influenced versions of classic hits and cuts. Through 25 years and eight independent albums, the last four on their own Right
Coast Records, Ballyhoo! have earned the exclamation point which marks their
name. Starting in the basement of their mom’s Aberdeen, MD, home, rocking
out on guitar and drums respectively, practicing every day, brothers Howi and
Donald Spangler formed the proto-punk band in the mold of Green Day and
Nirvana, with an eye towards the emerging ska genre led by Goldfinger, Sublime,
311 and No Doubt.

The group’s eighth and most recent studio album, the breezy, ska-fueled, hook-
filled Message to the World, on their own Right Coast Records, finds the self-
declared “beach-rockers,” having grown up in public, accepting the
responsibilities of adulthood while still hanging on to their dreams of world
domination. Stylistically, their music ranges from the hard-edged punk of 2018’s
Detonate, which captured the feelings of anger and depression from dealing
with personal loss and the exhaustion generated by over a decade on the road
to the island reggae beats of the follow-up, Message to the World.

“Whatever you want to achieve, just focus on that and work towards it,” explains
Howi about the Ballyhoo! ethos. “Don’t worry about followers, views, or even
money. Just keep making good stuff. One day it may be possible to finally quit

Sons of Paradise is a reggae-rock band proudly hailing from Raleigh, North Carolina. Founded in 2009 by high school friends Matt McClanahan (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Jordan Gee (keyboards), Sons of Paradise has risen to playing headlining venues across the country as well as supporting artists such as  Tropidelic, Bumpin Uglies, The Elovaters, Inner Circle, Beres Hammond, and many more.

Additionally Sons of Paradise has delighted fans at festivals including Reggae Rise Up Vegas and Reggae Rise Up Florida. Joined in 2023 by Joe Conroy (lead guitar) and Storm Adams (drums), and in 2024-2025 by Matt Corey (sax) and Donny Sills (bass), Sons of Paradise has its best lineup yet.

Sons of Paradise’s sound is hard to confine to one genre. An eclectic blend of powerful lyricism with playful hooks, elements of driving yet smooth lead guitar, complemented by melodic keyboard and organ, Sons of Paradise’s songs continue to push the boundaries of what might be considered “strictly reggae.” However dont be fooled, the reggae style in Sons of Paradise comes through beautifully with roots style drum and bass mixed with traditional reggae guitar and keyboard, creating well balanced crave worthy songs that you’ll want to listen to over and over again.

From prison to pandemic, Dale and the ZDubs aka “Snail and the Zebras” are back in full force. Inspired by Dale’s 2017 to 2020 incarceration for a non-violent drug crime, DZD’s most recent full length, “Off The Rip,” dropped in mid 2024. Blending groovy reggae influences with a hard hitting rock style, DZD is here to tell raw, ridiculous, and vulnerable stories while thrilling audiences across the country. As Snail describes the genre-bending quartet, “We are storytellers. And when we tell these stories, there are no click tracks, no vocal processing, and no backing tracks. WE PLAY LIVE!”

After the three-year hiatus, DZD went to work putting instrumentation and melody behind the lyrics Dale wrote on the inside. Dale also hit up some old friends to be part of the comeback. The result is the current steady stream of dope-ass singles including “This Time” ft. The Elovaters, “Pathological” ft. Bumpin Uglies, “Johnny Freight” ft. Passafire, and of course, “Her Melody” ft. HIRIE. In addition, ska-punk-fan-favorite, “Neighbors,” ft. BALLYHOO! was also finally released on the new 12-song LP, “Off The Rip.”

In early 2024, a seismic lineup shift occurred. Snail selected a new prolific cast of players hailing from up and down the East Coast, and plugged them into the nationally touring act. The new Zebra blood includes multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Mark King (bass and harmonies), formerly of The Elovaters (Pembroke, MA), and groove specialist Ethan Jones aka “The Marine” (drums and vocals), formerly of The Orange Constant (Athens, GA). The newest piece to DZD’s sound and style is Josh Boyd (lead guitar) out of Wilmington, NC. Joshy is a rare talent who brings both a heavier rock and jam-influenced element to the live performance. These new ZDubs have invigorated DZD’s classic sound, but with upgraded energy and bravado. “We’ve toured the country with Snail and the Zebras. Their live show has what I call, ‘the sauce,’ and it may be too spicy for some,” said Jackson Hauserman, lead guitarist of Kash’d Out.

DZD’s obsession with performing live keeps the wheels on the tour van turning across the country. DZD has recently shared the stage with the likes of Sublime with Rome, Andy Frasco, Little Stranger, Kash’d Out, Long Beach Dub Allstars, Joe Samba, and Artikal Sound System. High-energy live shows feature vocal harmonies, thick guitar-driven melodies, and fat rhythm section based grooves. And sometimes Snail gets a little crazy on stage too.

In 2026, END OF THE LINE will celebrate the 55th Anniversary of what is possibly the greatest and most influential live album in the history of recorded music – The Allman Brothers Band’s ‘AT FILLMORE EAST’. The entire double album will be performed in full, along with other ABB Classics and deep cuts. Some highlights will be the true modernization that was their cover of “Statesboro Blues”, the metropolitan sophistication of “Hot ‘Lanta”, the mystery within the epic “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed”, and the perennial favorite of “Whipping Post.” Come join End of the Line for their love letter to and new interpretation of one of the cornerstones of rock history that could only come “From the Fillmore.”
